book Talk: Fave Author

Hey Readers, I'm here with a book talk over favorite authors the first one is Ellen Hopkins. I found this author in my sophomore year of high school. I connected with a lot of Hopkins Character on one level or another and yes I know there some conservatory over a possible new release this year, but this whole race thing it being put aside for now. I can't say anything about that book or the righting because one it not out, and two I haven't read it and three I can't talk from experience I'm not black so I'm going to leave that out of this post. Hopkins tends to write books about the tougher topics of like addition, prostitution, abuse, and mental illness. My love for her books came with Crank, and after that, I've just kept wanting more of her writing. She writes in free verse which can speed the reading up, but lately, I notice I've slowed down on my reading of her books not that I don't her writing, but the topics hit kind of close to home. No, I wasn't kidnapped by my father and had my whole life lie about to me, but I know how it feels to question one's life. now there have been some books I didn't love as much as her other stuff, but For me it hard for me to love everything an author wrote and the two books that I didn't like happen to be adult and about affairs and being with a soldier, and I just wasn't going for either one.  I personally have issues with people cheating and someone physically and emotionally abusing something and a guy thinking it just okay to hit a woman to make a point. Now with all that said this author in a way told me that I am not alone in this world no, I've never been a prostitute, but I do know how it feels to not be wanted. I know how to have a parent tell you that your nothing. It shows me that things could be worst for me personally and no that doesn't make me feel better about my self at all. Yes, I know this post is all over the place, but that my thought process. Let me know in the comment below if you read Ellen Hopkins and if you have a fave book by her. Happy Reading
