Book Review: Shout

I know I said I wasn't going to do reviews that often, but this book deserves its own review not a little oh it okay or I really loved it line in a wrap-up or on Goodreads.  Without further do the book that just grabbed me is Shout by Laurie Halse Anderson. Now I heard about this book a few months ago and I remembered loving her books in middle school/ earlier high school and just kind of stop reading her stuff ( I read Most of what my local library had, and got distracted by other books). So when I saw she had a new book coming out I was like cool maybe I'll read it. So when I went to Meijer ( not For books) and saw this just sitting there I picked it up and started reading the book jacket I was shocked that it was a Memoir and so I bought it ( well my husband bought it for me). When I got home I couldn't wait and started reading it and with going between it and the books I was supposed to read this month ( oops). Since I started this book I've been engrossed in the book. it is written in poems which if you read her other stuff is different for her, but it works for this story. Now I don't know what Anderson went through or even the character when though I never been raped, but I know how it is to have someone touch you unwanted as small as it was one of my dad's old friends when I was a child would rub my legs, and one night he tried to feel me up I was able to stop him but what would happen if I wasn't able to I will thankfully not know. People can be mean and hateful. They see the opposite sex as a means to an end and Anderson says it perfectly in this book. It Easy to see that yes this book is a new favorite of mine and now I want to go back and read her other books and maybe even reread the ones I already have. it easily 5 stars for me. Now I know this book isn't for everyone, but she is telling a story that needs to be heard that for sure.
